Neocheaters: The Great Threat to Poker

Watch out for the neocheaters. They are the next generation of cheaters. With new kinds of tricks and methods, they herald as the new kind of cheating. They are invisible and an incredibly easy kind of cheating. Once your opponent hears about neocheating, he can immediately use it against you and stealthily beat all players in the poker table, even blackjack, gin, or bridge.

A cheater needs to be relaxed and confident to be able to pull this new kind of cheating. Although I don't have any idea how this is executed, I heard from pros that it is so subtle that it would be very hard to catch them. Worse, they are easy to learn. So anyone can be a neocheater.

The first time neocheating was detected was when a player was caught because he routinely obtained four aces and other four-of-a-kinds. Neocheating can also be dealt with more powerful hand at a time to ensure a big score (e.g. four kings to the neocheater and four queens to the victim). On the other hand, a seasoned neocheater rarely arranges powerful hands or goes for an immortal (royal straight flush) or a big score. To totally be clandestine, he casually uses just enough upper hand to give him consistent and unbeatable card advantages. This way, his techniques are so hidden; he can do it over and over again in poker, bridge, blackjack and gin.

Neocheating is anything but the classical cheating techniques like manipulation or traditional card-sharping methods, which requires years of mastery. It is not executed through such aids like marked cards, blind cutting, and hold-out devices. The really dangerous part of neocheating is that it requires no special skills; only the secretive, special knowledge on how it is done and few hours of practice.

Many individuals would have cheated in gambling if not of their fear of getting caught; and the time and effort required to carry it out successfully. But neocheating eliminates both roadblocks. Any cardplayer can cheat now, it's just hard to distinguish the pros and honest players from the cheaters. And as this form of cheating spreads, the popularity that once sided with poker, blackjack and other card games would deteriorate. The only way to preserve the game is to cheat yourself to win money.

Additionally, pros are worried that neocheating is the first form of cheating that can wipe money out even from the best poker players.

The only way to stop neocheating is to publicly reveal how it is employed and the techniques that is required to pull if off. This also helps the pros to come up with tactics themselves that can counter the cheating.
